Shoes - A girl's best friend

“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” ― Marilyn Monroe

I can be wearing anything at all..it could be the most boring, dull outfit...but as soon as I put on the right pair of shoes, I become Cinderella. Like magic. There isn't one pair of shoes in my wardrobe that don't work that magic.

Shoes make the outfit. They dress it up or down, a great pair of shoes gives you an untouchable attitude and a fabulous boost in confidence. A lady is defined by the shoes she wears! So I say live in them, treasure them, have plenty of them, and wear them high.

There’s definitely something to the idea that shoes are likely to fit and look amazing no matter how much weight you’ve lost or how bloated you feel, no matter how tired or crabby or upset you are. Shoes are a constant within outfits. They’re reliable. If they look great at 6 a.m., they’ll still look great at 9 p.m. unless an unseen muddy puddle appears.

But it occurred to me recently that shoes are also connected to ideas of travel, movement, and agility. We walk on them, rely on them to protect us from the streets and the weather, and our movements are helped or decided by them. This lends them a considerable amount of power within our daily lives.

Yet they are somehow also filled with power themselves. They influence our stance, posture, and overall physical appearance. They make us feel taller, steadier, faster, more lady like and capable of great things. Shoes are powerful.

And because of all that our shoes do for us we form an emotional attachment to them.
I don’t have an emotional attachment to ALL my shoes. I don’t care one bit about running shoes, for example, other than that they keep my feet and knees happy when I’m running. Trainers are like equipment they are necessary, but I’m not making a style statement with them. The same is true for my ski boots, astro shoes and snow boots. And I have several pairs of shoes that are not gear, exactly, but I’m not in love with them.

So which shoes/boots am I in love with, and why?
It’s the ones that make my style me , that’s my gold Hi  Tops or high heeled flip flops. I think the attachment is so emotional because shoes can make me *feel* a certain way more than any other item of clothing.

I tie up my red studded Hi tops and immediately feel tough and badass. When I walk in my high heels, head up, shoulders back and stomach in, I feel womanly, sophisticated and even powerful. I feel young and carefree in my cute ballet pumps. Shoes have this amazing power to transform your look as well as your attitude!

Bracing the frosty winter temperatures

It's that time of the year again and the snow is settling on everything so I dressed up semi-warmly and made my way outside !

I went for a more warm and practical look but still quite bold and bright ! I absolutely love these Motel jeans they are so crazy , they have a similar style to Versace the designer I think.

Russian fur hat , uber warm and actually really practical for what it is ! I particularly like the long cords coming off the with fur at the end.

My jumper says 'Chic' not 'Chick' just fyi in case you were wondering . Unfortunately you can't buy it anymore so I found a similar one with N.Y on it !

I love moon boots just because they are so comfy , warm and great for snow . The only thing you can't do in them is run properly because they are so bulky.

My little turquoise ring is from a random boutique in London however I have found a very similar one from Boticca .

In the pictures above and below I am wearing :

2013 Trend | Beauty Brights

As seen on the Fashion Week catwalk spring-summer 2013, the trend of ultra flashy and colourful makeup is very in this season .Bold, bright lip colours are the perfect way to dress up any outfit .  The way to wear the look and be on trend now is to keep your lip colour matte , and  lip colours shimmer free! Scarlet red and neon shades like fuchsia and coral are my favourites.I particularly like the Anna Sui Lip rouge below.

Glittery eyelids are big at the moment and I am a massive fan of this green neon Lit glitter for eyelids also I love the Sugarpill loose Eye shadow Darling .Bold eyeliner, eyelashes and eyebrows look great with   the bright lips such as Armour Beauty Lip Gloss Candy . My favourite bold lashes are the Sugarpill stormy false lashes they would look great lined with Deep blue Too Faced waterproof eyeliner .

Have fun with this trend it's a great way to brighten and lighten the start of spring.

Vintage Sunglasses

1.

People turn to vintage clothes to escape from the mass-produced fashion items graffitied with logos.
I am a massive fan of the vintagey look and I think that it can look really great.

Generally speaking, clothing which was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique clothing and clothing from the 1920s to 20 years before the present day is considered vintage.
At the moment I am loving vintage eye wear and I think that it is just another fashion statement to be made as today's 'modern eyewear' can look a bit samey !

2.

1. I love these 70's style BOHO hippy sunglasses because of the unusual shape and colour they just lift my mood looking at them. They also make  the cheekbones look  more defined because of the odd shape.
They are from Chictopia .

2.I think that if you match some up to date trend , say Gothic type look with vintage glasses like these it would look pretty original / stylish. They are from Planet Blue .

3. I love these over sized vintage glasses .They are huge with dark lenses and a glossy black frame . These are from Chictopia .

Have a look at some more gorgeous glasses below :

Survival of when you feel like you are going to die

1
What to do when you feel like your going to die :

I have these moments alot and for me this always works . Beware if you are Lactose intolerant, don't try this !

1. Ben and Jerry's , no plates or bowls there is something soothing about eating out of a container with a spoon .

Any Flavour but lets be honest only Chocolate fudge brownie , cookie dough and Phish food really do the job.

2. Eat cake/junk food as if there is no tomorrow , you will feel much better just living life as it should be lived rather than on one lettuce leaf a day .

3. Sympathy shop , this is where you buy random things that you have always wanted but never got round to buying for example a hippy doll.

3.

4.Do fantasy shopping where you write a list of things you will buy when your rich and famous . For example this Superyacht.

5. Listen to whale noises they seem to soothe the brain , it's like sleeping but whilst your awake !

Word fashion predictions

So there are fashions of clothes , beauty products , colours .... and words surprisingly !

Words that are overused and I think should be non existent :

 LOL - laugh out loud

Like - like (overused word)

Sick - awesome

Legit-  legitimate

My dictionary of words that really should be used more :

FOMO - Fear of missing out

PLUs - People like us

Soak- Lie in

Shred - generally doing things well

Spread the words !! Drop one into conversation perhaps , such fun !

Lobster Necklace - Not edible

My top 3 foods : Sushi , Lobster and Chocolate . Just fyi in case you were wondering !

I have a strange love of things that are a bit odd , I have fallen head over heels for this little lobster necklace .

The nippy necklace is made from 12 separate pieces which are jointed so that its body moves and its claws open and close. I think that it is a really funky , original  accessory by iconic London Designers Tatty Devine .

I will definitely be buying one of these bad boys to liven up a plain otherwise less lively outfit !

It is yet again available from MY FLASH TRASH  and it is only £36 which is pretty cheap I would say for such an unusual striking piece of jewelry!
